Expectations

Scout Expectations:
The troop strongly encourages each Scout to participate in the weekly meetings and in additional activities as scheduling allows. We understand that Scouts are involved in other activities, please understand that if you are not present for certain events, some awards or advancement opportunities may pass you by.

Scouts are expected to respect the guidelines established by the Church regarding the use of their facilities and property.

Scouts are expected to behave in accordance with the Scout Oath and Law.  Scouts displaying unacceptable behavior will first be given a verbal warning by an adult leader.  If his behavior does not improve it will be the joint decision of two adult leaders to notify parents by phone to come and pick up their boy immediately.  If this is the case, that boy will not be allowed to attend the next camp out/function without a parent also attending.

Regarding camping: Scouts who are attending a camping trip are expected to be present for the food shopping for the trip. Scouts are expected to be present at the start and end of a trip to assist with packing and unpacking of troop equipment. We understand that there will occasionally be exceptions, but every effort should be made to be present for shopping, packing, and unpacking if a Scout is participating in a trip.

Parent Expectations:
Boy Scout Troop 750 is exclusively run by volunteers.  The work of Boy Scouting can only be successful when parents like you are able to give of their time and talents to foster the activities of Boy Scouting.  Please complete this resource survey.  All parents are required to complete Youth Protection training.  Our Committee Chair will collect resource surveys.

All parents are encouraged to attend parent meetings throughout the year.  Attendance at the first parent meeting of each school year is required.  Plans for the year will be made available and sign up for committee assignments will be done.

The troop asks that a parent accompany the troop on at least one camp-out each year.  In addition, driving either to or from camp-outs two to four times per year is needed.

A parent needs to plan to spend time at summer camp during the course of his son’s time in scouting. The troop camps at various local Boy Scout camps.

Parents are expected to assist their son in raising money for scout expenses through participation in troop sponsored fund raising activities.
