You know the saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words?" Well, in Scouting, camping is worth (maybe not quite a thousand) but lots of hours of book learning.

Boys are wonderful beings who crave the outdoors, adventure, fresh air, trying new things, testing boundaries, and learning confidence when they "survive the wilderness."

Troop 608 - like all Boy Scout troops - puts a priority on outdoor experiences. Each month (at least) the boys will have adventures whether it be camping, rafting, hiking, climbing, exploring, orienteering, or even spelunking!

Here are some links to the programs we may participate in annually:

Woodruff Scout Reservation (Blairsville, GA) "Mountain Man" summer week-long encampment, or Bert Adams summer camp:

Lake Allatoona Aquatics Base, operated by Atlanta Area Council

Winter Camp at Bert Adams Scout Reservation (Covington, GA)

February Klondike Derby sled race

Duty to God encampment (autumn)
